THE QUOTES OF THE DAY

Quote I

“I said, ‘You know what? If we really think these things should be off the street, we need to destroy them" Ed Stack

Quote II

Thanks to her, everyone has her emails - the Russians, the Iranians, the Germans, the Chinese, the Saudis, the French... It would be easier and quicker to list the countries that don't: I believe Kiribati doesn't have them, and Montenegro only has about twelve per cent. Mark Steyn

Quote III

We’re letting our guard down and lowering our fists at a time when we should be itching for a good fight. David Cole

Quote IV

“I love my son, he’s a great person, but he’s 21 and 21-year-olds can just be irresponsible [some times],”Annique Owens

Quote V

“Peloton is talking about delivering happiness and connecting people,” “No: You sell exercise equipment.”Scott Galloway, a marketing professor at New York University

Quote VI

“I think it’s a little bit naive to think that all the folks that are living around in vehicles and all that – they are not good people, they are just killing us with theft,” Impact Bioenergy president Jan Allen

LOLGF'D

“A gas shortage threatens the Long Island region,” bleat six Long Island state senators, all Democrats, in a letter pleading for approval of a pipeline proposed to fix the problem — belatedly admitting that the policies they’ve long favored don’t work for their own constituents.

This year, Sens. Todd Kaminsky, John Brooks, James Gaughran, Anna Kaplan, Monica Martinez and Kevin Thomas all voted for Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Green New Deal law, whose very purpose is to further crimp energy supplies, and for a $100 million hike in taxes on energy.

California's Pacific Gas & Electric tells many of its customers: Suck it up Buttercups!

A California utility has announced it will shut off power to more than 800,000 customers in an effort to prevent new wildfires, in the largest preventive outage in state history.

With windy, dry weather in the forecast and warnings of extreme fire danger, Pacific Gas & Electric utility said it will start turning off power to 34 counties in northern and central California after midnight Wednesday.

It may take several days to fully restore power, Michael Lewis, senior vice-president of PG&E’s electric operations, said in a statement.

Separately, the Southern California Edison utility website said more than 106,000 of its customers in parts of eight counties could face power cuts.

More bad news for those attempting to quit via vaping. Lung cancer found in mice exposed to vaping.

Heads up, vape nation: there’s a chance that ripping some fat nicotine-infused clouds could end up giving you cancer.

In a landmark study funded by the National Institutes of Health, researchers at New York University found that e-cigarette vapor causes lung cancer and maybe even bladder cancer in mice, as CNBC reports. It’s the first time a study has found concrete links between nicotine vaping products and cancer.

“It’s foreseeable that if you smoke e-cigarettes, all kinds of disease comes out” over time, lead researcher Moon-Shong Tang told CNBC. “Long term, some cancer will come out, probably. E-cigarettes are bad news.”

The human body is a resilient creation. However, a tweezers in a urethra is a bit too much.

Doctors applied pressure on either side of the penis to keep the 2.7-inch tweezers closed while squeezing them out from the base of the shaft. If they removed them while they were still open the sharp ends could have damaged the urethra. It is now known why he inserted the tweezers into his manhood, but some men enjoy putting items in their penis while masturbating. The practice is known as sounding.

That sounds just horrible.

Too much government or not enough? Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) introduces legislation to include a label on products disclosing the presence of internet-connected microphones or cameras.

Senator Cory Gardner (R-Colo.) introduced a bill, dubbed the Protecting Privacy in our Homes Act, that would require tech companies to include a label on products disclosing the presence of internet-connected microphones or cameras. "The proposed law does not define what kind of labels would need to be appended but rather would order the Federal Trade Commission to put in place specific regulations 'under which each covered manufacturer shall be required to include on the packaging of each covered device manufactured by the covered manufacturer a notice that a camera or microphone is a component of the covered device,'" reports Ars Technica.

Our future is looking sad. Reactions to My Tweet Reveal the Ignorant Brutality of Young Socialists and Communists

An eye-opening social experiment unfolded on my Twitter feed over the past several days that reveals a lot about America’s new brand of young communists and socialists.

Not to bury the lede: Yes, they are still as repugnantly brutal as their predecessors in St. Petersburg and Phnom Penh – but today they add ignorance and infantilism to the toxic mix.

In other words, it is their professors who are to be blamed. Our young socialists are simply the puppies that Napoleon took away in the beginning of George Orwell’s novella “Animal Farm” and then unleashed on Snowball later on in the book.

Risk vs. reward. For every action..........Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

An armed man who broke into an Apple store in Dallas was shot dead by a security guard early Tuesday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 8, the suspect attempted to break in to the Apple store on the 3100 block of Knox Street near McKinney Avenue. Police said a witness stated he was wearing full body armor and was armed with an assault rifle.

The suspect attempted to disarm the security guard — a retired Dallas police officer — but was unsuccessful. The security guard was able to pull his weapon and fired multiple times, striking the suspect.
