The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

Here's the thing...I LIKE having an angry president. If he "swears and fulminates" at his enemies, that shows intestinal fortitude, and it shows that he is not afraid to defend himself, his policies, and the country.

We had eight years of a Bush who was above the fray (until it came time to criticize President Trump), and eight years of a president who had a smug and condescending demeanor in some pale reflection of intelligence and academic analysis. And whenever he did get angry it was carefully massaged by a compliant and subservient media.

Don't bother clicking the link, because it is a typical smug, arrogant analysis of President Trump's vigorous defense of his call to Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky. Interestingly, the writer doesn't examine the facts, he just...well, you know what he does.

Maybe President Trump is the template for an ascendant Republican Party. One that vigorously defends its political philosophy (if they have one) and attacks rather than meekly defends or, as has been the case for a generation, caves and withers and reaches across the aisle in a beta display of inferiority.
