Iraqi Immigrant Who Sabotaged Plane Denied Bail After Violent ISIS Videos Discovered on His Phone

I didn't jump on this story when it came out a week or two ago, waiting for evidence to justify my suspicions that he didn't sabotage a plane's engine only to get more overtime pay fixing it.

Well, the evidence is in.

A federal judge cited new evidence of potential terrorism sympathies in denying bail for a mechanic charged with sabotaging an American Airlines jetliner.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Chris McAliley imposed pretrial detention for 60-year-old Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani at Wednesday’s hearing.

The new evidence presented by prosecutors includes that Alani has a brother in Iraq who may be involved with the Islamic State extremist group as well as statements Alani made about wishing harm on non-Muslims.

Here's something that will shock you: Ilhan "Omar" Nur Said, who is herself an imprudently-permitted immigrant with deep terrorist sympathies, wants to forbid the US government from screening would-be immigrants' social media profiles for signs of terrorist action or terror sympathies.

Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar said in social media post Monday night that law enforcement vetting immigrants social media profiles is a form of "fascism."

"Make no mistake: This is fascism in action," Rep. Omar tweeted. "There's no guarantee that the Trump administration won't weaponize immigrants' political views against them by denying entry."

She said this the day before 9/11.
