Robert Francis O'Rourke Calls for Tech/Financial Monopolies to Stop Americans From Buying Guns;
David French Expected to Write Column Condemning Conservatives For Wanting to Exert Counter-Pressure on His Corporate Pals Any Moment Now

See Update to Post's End, below the fold.

The left has decided it's far easier to get corporations to end American's access to the First and Second Amendment rights, and doing so with vigor, and getting big results.

Meanwhile, the Corporatist Pseudo-Right continues insisting that Corporations Are Holy and should be allowed to deprive citizens of rights, because corporations are more important than citizens and often fund failing opinion website ventures.

Don't even think about pushing back against the corporate hijacking of your American patrimony, plebes! The left-right corporatist alliance has decided that your rights will have to be surrendered.

O'Rourke's plan is to drum up public pressure, beginning on debate day, on banks and credit card companies to refuse to handle any transaction involving assault weapons and firearm sales without a background check, most often found online and at gun shows.

Additionally, he is calling on these financial institutions to deny services to all gun and ammunition manufacturers that produce or sell assault weapons. This call appears to be the first of its kind among the Democratic candidates.

If you don't like it, peons, start your own Monopolies! (PS, the current monopolies also have unlimited Corporate Constitutional rights, enthusiastically championed by your Establishment Corporate-Service "Conservative" Ruling Class, to squelch any rising competitors, because Shut Up and Know Your Place).

Tim Pool swears up a storm over this creeping corporate-mediated totalitarianism.

The Constitution Is Not a Suicide Pact

But the hard-left/pseudo-right corporatist alliance is a suicide pact -- and David French insists you sign on the dotted line.

Surrender your speech, surrender your guns, and maybe we'll let you keep your bank account.

Saint David does love the good press he gets from the Respectable Liberal Media, though:

Update: A Koch company -- and Koch funds a lot of your favorite corporatist pseudoconservatives -- announces it will start running ads defending their fellow corporate friends in Silicon Valley from anti-trust probes.

Is this what you guys signed up for when you donated to the various corporate/establishment "conservative" causes? To see the entire conservative movement inverted, perverted into trampling your rights so it can devote itself 100% to promoting unlimited, unchallenged monopolistic freedom?

A conservative advocacy group that serves as the Koch family's political arm is coming to Silicon Valley's defense to push back against antitrust probes Google and Facebook are now facing from a vast array of state attorneys general.

Americans for Prosperity will release advertisements on Facebook prodding users to contact their attorneys general and urge them not to turn the investigations into a "political spectacle." The ads are slated to run for two weeks but will likely continue, the organization said. They'll initially run in nine states whose AGs are involved in one or both probes.

"There are serious consequences to abusing this kind of enforcement that create troubling ripple effects for American workers and families. The AGs involved should not use this investigation as a means to score political points," Billy Easley, AFP's senior tech policy analyst, said in a statement.

Libertarianism for your tech and corporate overlords, and subservience and serfdom for You.

I used to support corporate liberty -- when I assumed, naively, that corporate liberty went hand-in-hand with individual liberty.

But now corporations are signing on as eager enforcers of the leftist mob, depriving individuals of their liberties.

And we're supposed to pretend this isn't happening, and continue supporting them to the full? Without reservation?

Or are we just supposed to accept that of course corporate freedom is more important than personal freedom, because, I guess, corporations cut fatter checks to the "conservative" advocacy organizations and Republican congressmen?
