Ilhan Omar and a male companion were seen holding hands inside Caffe Pinguini in Playa Del Rey on March 24

Video, obtained exclusively by DailyMailTV, shows Omar leaving the restaurant with the man who tried to prevent them from being photographed

'The question is why they were at this particular restaurant. It's so out of the way. It's the sort of place you go when you don't want anyone to know where you are,' the man who took the video said

He added: 'He seemed very protective of her, it was not a random person. It just felt to me like they were close'

Representative Omar was in California for Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) banquet in Woodland Hills- more than 50 miles away from the restaurant

Omar is facing accusations that her second husband Ahmed Nur Said Elmi is in fact her brother and she only married him to get him entry to the US
