Matt Peterson: It's Time to Get Serious and Get Woke

Woke in the right way.

Some of us know what time it is -- and it is much later than many think.

Some of us, on the other hand, think it's 2003 and that Bush's approval rating will remain at 89% forever.

Many people seem surprised that CNN gave a platform to white-supremacist Richard Spencer this week. They angrily decry the outrageous hypocrisy of the Left putting Spencer on the national airwave when it routinely de-platforms those on the Right for far less than giving voice to self-avowed neo-Nazis. But why? Don’t you know the rules?

You know--the rules the Left is used to making, and the rules the "kept Right" [Not-Binary Ben and his gaggle of Safe for MSNBC soy addicts-- ace] is used to keeping. Did you actually think any of what is going on in Big Tech is really about stopping radical hate and violence? If that were true, all the folks from Antifa praising their terrorist lunatic who tried to shoot up a government facility this week would be de-platformed. Don’t hold your breath.

Spencer was deemed useful to pronounce Trump’s tweets racist. He quickly went on to complain that Trump has done nothing for white nationalists, contradicting the media narrative that Trump is somehow serving their interests, before CNN cut the interview.

But his job was done.

CNN doesn’t care about how gross it is that they gave him a platform. Spencer is now their little pet--their weapon to de-platform others, their new patsy they can trot out at will to say what they need him to say while cutting whatever's inconvenient.

But, you object, how can avowed racists be treated as indisputable judges of what is racist and what is not? Aren’t we told daily that racist microaggressions are committed by those who think they aren’t racist?

Shut up, bigot. Learn the rules.

[The left doesn't] have to worry about the respectability of their publications if they associate with wild conspiracy theorists. They put batshit crazy charts worthy of the most rabid Q-anon follower in prominent places within prestigious pages.

These fundamentalist zealots have turned our public square into the show trial court of the woke inquisition, replete with the choice between public confession and the guillotine of unpersoning. But the media is not your priest, and the public square is not a court of law. Stop playing their game.

At some point, you will need to join the rest of us and wake up. That's right. Get woke.

As a friend says: The Soy Brigade, the cucks, are the defeat mechanism of the conservative movement. They're always the first to defect -- hell, sometimes they defect to the left before the left has even begun a social media mob.

You can't be accused of cowed by the left if you yourself are leading the leftwing mob.

The left makes incredible claims, and within six months to two years, the Kept Right is repeating those claims as if they are age-old conservative dogmas first spoken by Reagan in his 1950s GE addresses.

Note this new incredible claim:

It sometimes seems that conservatives are accused of being "racist" any time they disagree with a black Democrat....

Thirty-two percent (32%) of Democrats, however, say it's racist for any white politician to criticize the political views of a politician of color.

So being a "politician of color" means that your views are immune to disagreement. Unless --once again-- you are a Republican. This, however, I can't explain:

That's a view shared by just 16% of both GOP and unaffiliated voters.

I can only assume that 16% of GOP voters didn’t understand the question.

Pace John Hindraker, I don't assume that. I assume that they understood the question just fine.

I assume they do in fact believe that. They wouldn't state it so baldly if they could formulate the statement themselves, but they would agree that it is racially rude to ever dispute the claims made by any minority, and that only Alt-Right Nazis would ever be so rude.

They want to be "nice," and "nice" means surrendering to all the left's aggressions.

Otherwise there might be a fuss -- and their nice leftwing colleagues and Twitter correspondents wouldn't like that, and might even deliver upon them the most awful sanction of all -- withdrawing leftwing tolerance for them and casting them into the Outer Darkness of being a Garbage Person (on Twitter, or in FaceBook groups).

Whenever the left declares that something is now beyond debate and an absolute prerequisite for acceptance as a tolerated member of the Kept Right, the Kept Right kicks up a slight bit of sulkiness at first, but in six months to two years, they are zealously urging the deplatforming of anyone who ignores the recent leftwing demands Time-Tested Conservative Principles.

They're cowards and weaklings as warriors, but they are bold and fierce as traitors.

"Republicans" who have been sluggish, conciliatory, and soft when allegedly on the conservative side will suddenly become hard-charging death-or-glory hack-and-slashers when they scent the blood of their true enemies -- actual conservatives.

They're traitors. Not by circumstance, but by conviction. They're Benedict Arnolds, they're Kim Philbys.

As the Soviet traitor in the movie Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy says: "In the end it was an aesthetic choice as much as a moral one."

And one traitor in your camp can do more harm than ten thousand zealous warriors outside the gates.
