Update/Clarification: I hadn't realized, he'd been convicted on Friday, and is now awaiting sentencing. He was convicted for asking members of the Muslim rape gang what they expected for a verdict, which the crown prosecutors argued would upset the defendants and thus interfere in their ability to defend themselves at trial.
Meanwhile, reporters ask that question of accused at trials all the time -- and they mob up Tommy Robinson himself and ask him much worse than that.
They won't be imprisoned, though, because they are permitted speech. They are asking questions of the targets permitted/encouraged by the government speech police.
"In desperation, I'm making the appeal to President Trump urging him to get his lawyers and his team to look into my case. I’ve already been unlawfully imprisoned, now I've been convicted -- not by a jury of peers -- but the government that got me through a back door. I've been convicted for journalism," Robinson told the Gateway Pundit. "I seek political asylum because I believe that in two days time I'll be sent to prison to be murdered by a government who oppose and have taken our freedoms away."
Robinson added that "freedom of speech is gone and our freedom of press is gone -- and whilst it goes, all the mainstream media celebrate it."
Robinson will be making a direct plea to Trump on both Tucker Carlson and the Alex Jones show today.
Ezra Levant just did a report on this latest political prosecution.
Apparently the prosecutor spent a lot of time interrogating Robinson about his statement that the media is corrupt and biased. Something I guess you're no longer permitted to say in this once-free country.
