The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

What color is the sky in your incoherent, illogical, ignorant, cowardly and, frankly, stupid world? Is your hatred of the President and his supporters so all-encompassing that you cannot see that the censorious aspects of American political and social discourse come overwhelmingly from the Left, and that the Right is frantically pushing back against the monopolistic (and monolithic) media companies because they have a stranglehold on that discourse?

And yet it is possible to detect something that connects the post-liberal worldview, a shared sensibility that is, if not a platform or a program, at least a sort of guidepost suggesting a way forward. And that is an underlying sense of censoriousness. It is a prevailing belief that free expression has simply gone too far, and that the state should probably do something about it.

It is stunning, and an indictment of your education and genes that you cannot see the difference between the Left and the Right on this issue. The Left, supported by their Antifa goons on the ground and SJWs on the internet want to crush into the dirt all speech that does not conform to their Maoist world-view. The Right wants the power of the electronic public square distributed more equitably, because the current state of affairs is untenable. There is overt and unapologetic censorship of speech, and the purveyors of these systems are indistinguishable from the monopolies that you and your ilk enthusiastically destroyed just a few short years ago. In fact it is even worse, because the barriers to entry are huge, so the usual answer: "Build your own system," is incorrect.

This is not complicated. It's not difficult to comprehend. So either you are dumber than a rock, or you are a disingenuous hack.

Personally I am embracing the power of "And."
