London Mayor Sadiq Khan reportedly gave the go-ahead for protesters to fly a giant, orange inflatable baby designed to look like President Trump during his state visit to the United Kingdom next week.
According to The Times, Khan signed off on the protesters' request to fly the balloon over the city's Parliament Square earlier on Friday. The balloon will reportedly fly Tuesday, a day after Trump is scheduled to arrive in London for his three-day visit.
The BBC -- the actual State News Service of the UK, for which all citizens are mandated to pay a tax to fund if they own a tv at all (and, I imagine, also if they don't) -- thinks that it is unbiased and neutral to run a news program with a Trump Balloon in-studio.
The BBC's stunt involved the network’s presenter Victoria Derbyshire hanging out with a baby version of an inflatable puffy, orange President Donald Trump blimp in studio. It was complete with nipples, chest hair, an open mouth and a bright yellow mane. The stinger is that this all went down as Trump arrived in London Monday morning...
I’m beyond embarrassed & angered that @BBCNews would have a replica of the ‘blimp’ in their studios. President Trump represents the American people who are our greatest allies, abhorrent that the BBC is showing them such vile disrespect as we honour their sacrifices during WWII ! pic.twitter.com/oqjyW5biYW

Trump has had a war of words with pugnacious pipsqueak Sadiq Khan going back years. Trump responded to an inflammatory op-ed the midget mayor had written, in a joint press conference with Theresa May.
"He's done a poor job, crime is up, a lot of problems," Trump reasserted on Tuesday.
The two politicians have traded jabs over Twitter throughout the duration of Trump's U.K. visit, with Trump labeling the mayor as a "stone cold loser" as he arrived in London. Khan responded by telling BBC that the president's insults reminded him of "the sort of thing an 11-year-old would do."
Trump had also said that Sadiq Khan is worse than Bill DeBlasio, "but only half his height."
Well! America's State News Outlet, for which all Americans are required to pay tax to support, actually fact-checked this insult of the bite-sized bureaucrat, and found that that isn't true.
National Public Radio (NPR), the taxpayer-funded media outlet, reported on Monday that President Donald Trump lied about the mayor of London’s height in a tweet he posted ahead of his state visit to the United Kingdom.
...
"One difference, Trump said, between the two mayors, he said that Khan is only half the height of de Blasio," Langfitt said. "That's not true. Mayor Khan is 5 foot 6."
NPR did the math and discovered that if the mayor were half the size of de Blasio's 6 feet 5 inches, he would be just over 3 feet tall.
One of the Trump baby blimps flown at today's protests in London against the US president’s visit was attacked by a pro-Trump supporter carrying a sharp object.
A woman approached a group anti-Trump activists outside the House of Commons and stabbed the mini blimp in the back, according to the team of "babysitters" looking after the balloon.
Check this out:
"A woman … punctured the mini Trump baby replica with a sharp object,” said a spokesman for the Trump Baby UK group. "It's not surprising that the far right would want to meet freedom of expression with violence."
You got that? It's not surprising that the right would respond to speech with "violence." Here, that violence is merely popping a balloon.
And two paragraphs later....
Elsewhere in Parliament Square, one of the president's supporters was hit on the head by a milkshake. Video footage showed a crowd of demonstrators chanting "Nazi scum" at the man, before he was struck by a drink container and with left milkshake dripping down his forehead.
Yes, the right is certainly the group responding to speech with violence.
