The Morning Report - 12/25/18

Good morning kids. Merry Christmas to all, and in the immortal words of Father Murray "I want all you sack-rats to cut out the swearing for Yuletide." Not much meat on the links today but what we got is "cherce," so let's get with it.

First up, the "government shutdown" sham theatre continues with no agreement in sight over funding for the Border Wall and border security that the American people have demanded, not just in 2016 but for decades. Starting with the amnesty angle, the President has announced the awarding of a contract for construction of the first 115 mile section in Texas, a hack-in-black judge has ruled that an illegal alien Honduran cannot be repatriated while her 15-year-old daughter remains in US custody awaiting an asylum hearing (how about repatriate BOTH of them south of the border?), ICE reports the removal of 71 illegal aliens who came from countries flagged as state sponsors of terrorism and the Trump administration is getting serious on restricting Chi-Com student visas from whence we get a massive espionage operation.

In politics, will the GOP stand firm with the President or will they cave (their track record is solid; 99.999% spineless). Elsewhere, Cuck Schemer got into a bit of hot water over a help wanted ad he placed for an unpaid intern; kind of embarrassing since he's an alleged champion of high wages for the working stiffs, the hypocritical toad, a look back at the promises kept and those yet to be kept by PDT and the GOP, the Sandersnistas and the O'Rourke pimps get ready to rumble, Rabbi Fischer on "Mad Dog disease," and Kamala-Toe's and Maizie Hirohito's vile attack on a Trump judicial nominee's Catholicism, since obviously his record as a judge is impeccable.

First Amendment and Fake News Fakery: a look back at the year's most egregious examples of media lies and propaganda, Der Spiegel is going after the lying journalist - but I repeat myself - who faked news stories in their rag, Slate hack brags about helping Google quash pro-life search items, and Colorado is out to destroy Christian baker Jack Phillips for the crime of exercising his Constitutional rights.

Mueller Witch Hunt: Chief Justice John "Erring Crockovich" Roberts is involved in some sort of secret SCOTUS hearing regarding Mueller and a foreign entity. Could be nothing or a very big effin' deal.

Second Amendment: The New York Times is urging credit card companies to persecute and/or blackball anyone buying guns with a credit card.

Over at the Foreign Desk, another deadly tsunami could possibly hit Indonesia, which is the world's most populous Muslim nation. Funny how we don't hear all sorts of shouts from priests, rabbis and monks that it was G-d's will, eh Farrahkkkahn? A funny coincidence; just as Trump is announcing a resumption of talks with the NorKs, a Federal court orders the latter to pay $501 million to the parents of Otto Warmbier, Israel is on edge over the Syrian bug-out as is Michael Ledeen. I admire and respect Dr. Ledeen and while I agree with his overarching assertion that we are at war with global Islam and Leftism - two political philosophies and not nation states - he does not elucidate either a grand strategy of how to fight them and what ultimate victory looks like. What we are doing now and have done since the Bushes and perhaps going back to Vietnam does not get it done, and that is why the withdrawal is looking more and more like the right decision IMHO. Finally a good essay about Trump, nationalism and our role going forward.

To the religion of peace we go where the butchering of two Norwegian girls by Islamic animals in Morocco is seen as revenge for their defeat in Syria and Iraq, a return to normalcy in Mosul now that ISIS is gone, and Robert Spencer on ISIS' Christmas message of "we keeeeeeeel you!"

Back over here, the Teamsters have their hands in UPS employees' pockets, an evidently non-Muslim psycho rammed his SUV into a Portland church last night.

The economy stupid - mostly because the Fed and others are deliberately tanking the stock market and destroying nearly a trillion dollars of our collective wealth because they hate Trump (and you), Congress is also destroying our economic future with even more debt and spending, the President rails against Powell while IBD assures us that Steve Mnuchin meeting with the banks is a good thing and Salena Zito on the renaissance of small business USA.
