Tucker Carlson: The Mob Came to Terrorize Wife So That I Would Give Up My Free Speech
Before getting to Sexton's article:
That is ominous. I don't know what their plan was here but it is worrying that they attempted a military/siege style blockade of all roads to and away from Tucker Carlson's house.
Sexton quotes from Tucker Carlson last night.
He called into his own show. (See Correction below; apparently he had already planned to take days off, and did not take an unscheduled day off as I had wrongly assumed.)
"To do this is a form of intimidation; why are we describing it as a protest," Carlson said. He added, "It's a protest in the sense that when the mafia tells a store owner', "Hey, I'd hate to have this place destroyed. That's not a protest. It's a threat."
Either we have a two-way social compact or we have no social compact at all, and it's just pure Street Power and vigilantism and vengeance raids.
I don't know what these people are thinking: Do they think that when we find out who they are, we won't publicize their names? And addresses?
They're always claiming that Right Wingers are "threatening" and "violent." Do they really believe that? They seem to know this is bullshit, because they are sowing the whirlwind -- which makes no sense, unless you know your complaints about a Right Wing Whirlwind are propagandistic lies.
But the thing is, obviously there are some right-leaning people, some not entirely mentally sound, who will decide to take things to a nasty level.
Do these people think that their leftwing politics and favorable coverage from Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, and Brooke Baldwin protects them at their homes or when walking down the street alone?
If they're willing to escalate this into threats and violence, how can they not realize that the same threats and violence will soon be visited upon them?
I don't want to make threats here, even against people making threats themselves, but: What do you think is going to happen here? Have you gamed this out even a single move ahead?
You've decided that evil rightwingers should be stripped of any feeling of physical safety.
Do you honestly believe that the edgier elements of the evil rightwinger coalition will permit you to retain your feeling of physical safety?
Protein Wisdom has an edgy tweet about antifa's and "SmashRacism's" media enablers and promoters, wondering if they realize how easy it is to find their homes.
He doesn't want to make a threat any more than I do: but do these people think that the tactics they are visiting on other people will not be visited on they themselves?
Why in hell would they believe such a preposterous thing? Are they simply mentally deranged?
No one wants to threaten the people encouraging this -- but I don't see how the hell else we can get through to lunatics and dullards the simple, inescapble truth that the rules they choose for their "enemies" are also, unavoidably, the same rules they choose for themselves.
How the hell do you get through to people who are so stupid to not realize that if they continue throwing stones at a dog that dog is going to go after them?
Either we all agree -- and this includes antifa promoters Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, Brooke Baldwin, and, I imagine, Jeff Zucker, who must surely approve of this -- that threatening citizens and even lesser creatures like media workers is off limits, and that we will condemn all such thuggery, even the thuggery that gets the People Who Deserve It (who used to be called merely "political opponents"), or I have to tell you: It's game on, and its a war of all against all.
Does the leftwing want this?
Oh, BTW: In Sexton's article, he notes that Tucker Carlson said he knows at least one of the guys who terrorized his wife -- that he had appeared on one of his shows.
It is only by superhuman mercy that that name is not already out there.
But people are going to try to find an angry antifa/SmashRacismDC guy who appeared on Tucker Carlson's show.
And then what?
Correction: Tucker Was Already Planning to Take Couple of Days Off:
Small point of information: Tucker actually did have a few days off scheduled, he said so on Wednesday at the end of his show.

Apologies, I had not heard that, and I assumed (one should never assume, I know, I know) that his absence was due to this incident.
