The Morning Report 9/6/18

dumbandblonder.jpg

Good morning kids. Thursday and the top stories are day 2 of the Kavanaugh hearing and Democrat freak show, and reaction to the "anonymous" NY Times op-ed claiming to be with the resistance and ripping the President. Let's start at the top. Or in this case the bottom, really. For at least the past 30 years, the Democrats have been trotting out the same lies, hyperbole and scare tactics but this time, lacking the intellectual heft (emphasis on "heft") of a Teddy Kennedy character assassination of the type unleashed on Robert Bork, we have the heft of Kirsten "Jello-Brain" Gillibrand vomiting up the same old tired bilge of "people are going to literally die" if Brett Kavanaugh is confirmed. Well, she did add the word "literally" which removed her from contention for the Hobson thrilling-economy-with-words prize.

And then, from the depths of Narragansett Bay comes noted vulgarian and cud-chewer Sheldon Whorehouse. As the great William Jacobson writes in the link:

Sheldon Whitehouse may have had the worst performance on Day 2 of the Brett Kavanaugh hearings. And that's saying a lot. In a forum filled with Democrat attempts to play gotcha with Kavanaugh, Whitehouse displayed the disdain and contempt for his political opponents that has become his hallmark.

Whitehouse never has been a happy warrior. He demeans and belittles people who disagree with his policy provisions. Perhaps the worst example is when he compared opponents of Obamacare to Nazis during Kristallnacht and people who lynched blacks...

...Whitehouse brought that attitude to the questioning, working in repeated references to "dark money" supporting Kavanaugh, and trying to make the Federalist Society into some sort of nefarious operation undermining the country. That's how Whitehouse rolls, his opponents are portrayed as devious and conspiratorial. And like former Congressman Alan Grayson, Whitehouse suggest that his opponents want people to die (though he's not as blunt as Grayson)...

Gillibrand's economy with words comes from her grade school vocabulary and command of facts, or lack thereof, as well as constantly looking over her shoulder to see if Cuck Schemer has given her permission to speak. Whitehouse on the other hand, though a victim of verbal diarrhea, nevertheless spews the same tired, irksome, tedious, banal tropes and piffle as the bloated blonde, but he foams a bit at the mouth from unchecked distemper and rabies. I understand that GOP candidate Bob Flanders might actually have a shot at kicking that bipedal coprolite to the curb. Considering the state's location in solid blue New England, I'm not holding out hopes. But how glorious would it be, inshallah.

Among the links is a piece that hits the nail on the head vis a vis SCOTUS as a Democrat super-legislature and permanent policy enabler of the Left. Ted Cruz on Day 1 nailed it, and as Ace noted:

...Finally, Cruz points out that progressives use the courts to win policy fights they cannot win at the ballot, and points out that America has been debating big policy issues that the left would like to win via the courts. And in the face of that, they chose Trump, who promised to appoint constitutionalists. He specifically notes that every Democrat Senator voted to gut the First Amendment, and that many Democrat Senators voted to repeal the Religious Freedom Act signed into law by Bill Clinton, and that almost every Democrat wants to effectively repeal the Second Amendment.

Huge debates about which virtually every voter was aware -- and every voter was aware what kind of candidates each nominee would select. So again, Cruz concludes, the Democrats are simply trying to undo the will of the American people...

(do not comment on old posts)

Moving on to the other lead story, the NY Times published an anonymous op-ed putatively from an administration insider who is claiming to be with "the resistance" (how many ohms?) and blasting the President. The reaction from all quarters and the President himself has been swift and brutal in its takedown of the miscreant in question. In fact, PDT has demanded that the Times release the name of said anonymous writer in the interests of national security. Normally, I am reticent about this since I do believe, in a world where real journalism (such as practiced here and NOT the NY Times) needs anonymous sources. But here we have someone in the administration openly crowing about working from within to sabotage the President and his agenda. That said, if that's what you're about you don't go and pen op-eds for newspapers crowing about it. But egomania is what it is, as we have witnessed in the age of social media narcissism syndrome. Should be an interesting battle and no doubt, I think PDT comes out on top and the media yet again loses even more credibility, what there is left of it, in the eyes of the public.

Speaking of socialist media, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey testified to a House committee, Congress is looking to clamp down on that industry's censorship before the midterms, analysis of Bob Woodward's tall tale and why he wrote it and Starbucks refuses to serve customers wearing "Ex-Muslim" t-shirts. Vagrants, layabouts, ambulance-chasing racialists and others are of course welcome in Howie Schultz's world. Meh. They can go the way of Nike. And finally David Horowitz gives a speech about ALEC and the organization is suddenly under attack from the usual Nazi-collaborator-funded Soroses, er, sources.

Segueing nicely to politics, as the Trotskyites attempt to stave off a Shining Path to oblivion from the Maoists, the RNC is capitalizing on the insanity with a new ad campaign, Planned Parenthood is renewing their ground game to defeat the GOP (day ending in "Y"), and a Dem candidate who's a doctor routinely turns away poor Medicaid patients and children from her practice rounds out the links.

Internationally, Nikki Haley presides of the Security Council and sparks fly over Nicaragua, Venezuela has all but imploded, Chinese Emperor Winnie the Pu-Xi may have to roll out the tanks, and PDT's foreign policy is, so far, a winner. The backlash against the Islamization of the Fatherland is alarming Merkel and her crew, Daniel Greenfield warns about feminism and its love affair with the clit-clippers, the son of a Boston police captain gets 20 years for plotting an ISIS terror attack and homegrown Islamic terrorism is on the rise here at home.

In enviro news, the Monsanto/RoundUp ruling could play havoc with international agriculture and Congress is investigating environmental groups for links to the Chi-Coms. No better way to destroy your enemy than from within and in the guise of saving the planet - for the people!

From hither and yon, voluntary human extinction is a thing (which means it becomes involuntary when enough volunteers won't take the pill), have we reached peak homo, and a good essay on the Trump effect, PBUH.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

UPDATE: Link fixed to Beijing Xi protest link
