John Solomon: Hillary Clinton and Fusion GPS Just Kept Sending Fresh Copies Of the "Dossier," Using Stooges as Deliverymen to Hide Their Role, Until the FBI Finally Bit

Hillary's operation just kept using different stooges (or dupes) to keep pestering the FBI with their opposition research smear.

Among those stooges and/or dupes: Christopher Steele, obviously. Glenn Simpson says he didn't, but a Peter Strzok email says he did. Mother Jones' David Corn, one of the leftwing "journalists" pushing this nonstory the hardest pre-election.

And of course John McCain.

We know from public testimony that dossier author and former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele shared his findings with the FBI in summer and fall 2016 before he was terminated as a confidential source for inappropriate media contacts.

And we learned that Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) provided a copy to the FBI after the November 2016 election -- out of a sense of duty, his office says.

Now, memos the FBI is turning over to Congress show the bureau possessed at least three versions of the dossier and its mostly unverified allegations of collusion.

Each arrived from a different messenger: McCain, Mother Jones reporter David Corn, Fusion GPS founder (and Steele boss) Glenn Simpson.

That revelation is in an email that disgraced FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok wrote to FBI executives around the time BuzzFeed published a version of the dossier on Jan. 10, 2017.

"Our internal system is blocking the site," Strzok wrote of the document posted on BuzzFeed. "I have the PDF via iPhone but it’s 25.6MB. Comparing now. The set is only identical to what McCain had. (it has differences from what was given to us by Corn and Simpson.)”

The significance of Strzok's email is obvious to investigators who reviewed it in recent days. The FBI is supposed to be immune to manipulation by circular information flows, especially with sensitive investigations such as evaluating whether a foreign power tampered with an American election.

By "circular information flow," I assume he means what Wikipedia calls "circular reporting," wherein A feeds information to B, and then both A and B send the information to C, making C believe, erroneously, that C has two sources for the claim, when in fact it has only one.

Circular reporting or false confirmation is a situation in source criticism where a piece of information appears to come from multiple independent sources, but in reality comes from only one source. In many cases, the problem happens mistakenly through sloppy intelligence gathering practices. However, at other times the situation can be intentionally contrived by the original source as a way of reinforcing the widespread belief in its information.

Sending the same bullshit from multiple "sources" to multiple recipients (the FBI, the State Department, the media, probably overseas intelligence services as well) certainly seems like an "intentionally contrived" operation to get the FBI to announce an investigation, and thereby get the media to report the oppo dump as "being investigated by the FBI," or to get the media to report the oppo dump, and then use media pressure to get the FBI to open an investigation.

And, interestingly enough, this same sort of "circular reporting" operation seems to have been employed by CNN and John Brennan and/or James Clapper in getting the dossier reported.

As I've speculated: Brennan and/or Clapper wanted CNN to report on the dossier. CNN also wanted to report on it.

They were in league on this.

But CNN felt it could not report these claims without a "news hook," as CNN actually told someone in Obama's administration.

We know that, because Comey told Trump that CNN was only waiting for a "news hook" to report it. A pretext.

So Brennan and/or Clapper lobby Comey to brief Trump about it.

This briefing then becomes the very "news hook" CNN wanted in the first place to report on the dossier -- deliberately engineered for them by Brennan (now at MSNBC) and/or Clapper (now at CNN).

And they were doing the same thing before the election, desperately trying to get the media to report on "The Dossier" to pressure the FBI to bless it with an investigation, or trying to get the FBI to open the investigation so the media could report on it -- any kind of "Well they're investigating Trump too" story to offset the Hillary email story.

John Solomon discusses David Corn as one of the FBI's sources for the dossier -- though Corn disputes the idea he was a "source." He claims he was merely trying to get confirmation that this dossier was... um, the same dossier he knew full well they'd been given a bunch of times?

Spoiler alert: it was the same dossier.

Corn needed to "confirm" that with the FBI?

Mollie Hemingway was curious about this, and about Peter Strzok's reference to the dossier given to the FBI by Glenn Simpson and David Corn. She wanted to know if Corn gave the dossier to the FBI as part of Glenn Simpson's information op.

He claims he didn't. He just did this on his own "journalistic initiative."
