Ralph Peters Goes On CNN to Whine About Fox
There is a difference between conservatives attracted to the idea of ordered liberty and those who simply worship "Order," no matter how pernicious that order might be.
Retired United States Army lieutenant colonel and former Fox News analyst Ralph Peters ripped Fox News as a "destructive propaganda machine."
Speaking with Anderson Cooper on Wednesday, Peters noted that the network he was once proud to be associated with now does a "great deal of damage."
Cooper paused CNN's 24 hour a day programming of Stormy Daniels' interviews and Where's Melania? conspiracy-theorizing to let this sad cuck explain that a rival network is a "destructive propaganda machine."
He added: “With the rise of Donald Trump, Fox did become a destructive propaganda machine.”
Then after noting that the primetime hosts are "attacking the rule of order" and "the rule of law," he insisted “they are doing it for ratings and profit…Knowingly in my view doing a grave, grave disserve to our country."
I think it's a Freudian slip for him to have condemned Fox first for "attacking the rule of order," then correcting himself to the "rule of law."
There are many people -- some of them "Republicans," of a stripe -- who believe in almost nothing at all except Order and the old fascist slogan, Authority From Above, Confidence From Below. It doesn't matter who is in a position to enforce Order, or if that Order is being used abusively and anti-democratically: some people are "Republicans" just because they're ga-ga gay for Order, whatever form it takes.
Whatever collection of power-seeking narcissists, grifters, and psychopaths has managed to insinuate themselves into positions of power to impose "Order" on unwilling citizens, there's a certain deranged fringe of power and order-worshipping authoritarians who are ready to demand that everyone else submit.
If you don't, we won't have this precious "Order" dictated to us from on high.
And we can't have that.
For whatever never-quite-explained reason.
Say, you know what the ultimate form of Order is? Tyranny. Maybe we should submit to that as well.
