I've long wondered why anyone would pay the penalty, there are so many holes and exemptions available that it's a joke, but Trump has added 4 more exemptions. The big one is a conscience exemption: If no ACA provider in your area offers plans that do not cover abortion, you can apply to be exempt from the shared responsibility penalty and it's retroactive to 2016 (if you paid and want to file an amended return). Not tired of winning yet.
