The OIG Report is About McCabe's Leaks Against Obama Officials and Hillary Clinton, Not About Trump.

This report is not even close to what I thought it would be about.

In a way, though, it makes sense.

An investigation was not opened into McCabe's leaks of damaging stuff about Trump.

No -- why would they do that? The Deep State doesn't like Trump. They approve of leaks against Trump.

This report is about McCabe's leaks against Obama officials.

Naturally -- that's the kind of leaking the Deep State doesn't like. Leaks against one of their own. Leaks against the minions of The Precious.

So it's all about leaks that McCabe authorized certain underlings to make to the Wall Street Journal. The WSJ had published (on October 25, 2016) an article by Devlin Barrett noting that McCabe's wife had gotten huge donations (I think between $500,000 and $700,000) from Hillary Clinton's bagman Terry MacAuliffe for her election bid, and yet McCabe refused to recuse himself from overseeing the Clinton email investigation or the Clinton Foundation investigation.

Importantly, the existence of the latter had not yet been made public. Comey had been asked about it and refused to confirm or deny any such investigation.

McCabe wanted to clear his own name of the charge of unethical behavior, and, so, decided to engage in unethical behavior by rebutting the WSJ story by claiming that Obama officials were pressuring him to shut down the Clinton Foundation investigation, and McCabe, heroically, resisted.

That's his claim, anyway.

But the leaks he authorized -- through someone the report only notes by her position of "Special Counsel," so I'm gonna guess he did this through Lisa Page -- confirmed that there was in fact a Clinton Foundation investigation, despite the official FBI policy being that this was non-public and not to be talked about, and also relayed the contents of this alleged phone call in which the Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General (called by his position, "PADAG") tried to get McCabe to back off the investigation and McCabe, supposedly, refused.

Note that if this is true, we have Obama officials attempting to pressure FBI officials to drop an investigation into Obama's would-be successor, Hillary Clinton.

Yet I don't think the media will be talking about that.

It was this leak, and apparently only this leak, that roused the Deep State enough to get them to investigate McCabe for leaking.

The conclusions of the report is that McCabe was asked twice, not under oath, by the FBI if he had leaked to the WSJ about this or if he knew who had leaked to the WSJ about this. He claimed he did not leak and did not know who did, despite being in frequent communication with "Special Counsel" before and after her call to the WSJ making the leak, and asking her how it went and etc.

In a text exchange, "Special Counsel" and a then Deputy Assistant Director talked about throwing "PADAG" "under the bus:"

The article stated that Department officials told Comey that his decision to update Congress about the discovery of additional Clinton e-mails prior to the election was inconsistent with Department policy, and DAD observed in his text message that "This is all [PADAG]." Special Counsel responded "Yeah. I saw it. Makes me feel WAY less bad about throwing him under the bus in the forthcoming CF article."

Special Counsel told us that she was referring in this text to her disclosure to Barrett about the August 12 conversation between McCabe and PADAG, and what she meant by "throwing [PADAG] under the bus" was that it was an "unfortunate sort of fact or consequence" but it was “necessary to rebut the notion that [Andy] was trying to kill the Clinton Foundation case for inappropriate or improper reasons.

So "Special Counsel" sure understood that she was leaking to protect "Andy." And yet "Andy" claims he doesn't know who leaked.

The report further says he was asked twice more, this time by investigators of the IG and this time under oath and recorded, the same questions -- if he leaked, if he knew who leaked -- and once again lied and claimed he didn't leak and didn't know who did.

If I find anything else interesting, I'll update.

Apparently they didn't even bother investigating anti-Trump leaks, and I doubt they ever will.

But leak against Hillary or Obama's minions, and they hop into furious action.

PS: I'm trying to find out who "PADAG" was under Lynch and Yates, but I'm having no luck. Has anyone seen any story filling in the name of this "PADAG"?

Update: The GreatScotsman writes:

14 Ace this was all started by obama/lynch because of what was going on with the FBI at that time. Trump hadn't even gotten the nomination at the point where this investigation started. I thought everyone understood that.

I'm embarrassed to confess I did not know that.

And "Commenter," aka Jack Straw, says this isn't the report, but one of several report, and those, I hope, will get at the Trump leaks.
