Sara A. Carter: House Committee Found that James Clapper Leaked Details of Pee-Pee Party Dossier and Briefing to CNN
"Inconsistent statements."
This story is actually from last week, but I missed Sara Carter's article.
I'm glad it's finally being reported:
Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper allegedly leaked information to CNN early last year regarding the classified briefings given to then President-Elect Donald Trump and President Barack Obama on the salacious dossier claiming the Russians had compromising information on the president-elect, according to government sources, who noted the evidence of the leak was collected during the House Intelligence Committee's Russia investigation.
Clapper, who was one of four senior Obama administration officials to attend the briefing with the presidents, also stated his "profound dismay at the leaks" in an official statement issued in January, 2017 and warned that the leaks were "extremely corrosive and damaging" to national security, according to his press release.
Sara Carter could have gone further, and noted that Clapper lied to the public in claiming that no one in the intelligence community that he knew of had leaked details of the briefing.
The US director of national intelligence has denied that the intelligence community leaked claims that Russia holds compromising personal and financial information on President-elect Donald Trump.
In an unusual statement on Wednesday evening that highlighted tensions between spy chiefs and the incoming president, James Clapper, a key adviser to the US President on security and intelligence, rejected a suggestion by Trump that the agencies were responsible for the story going public.
One of the authors of the piece is Evan Perez. Evan Perez, along with Jim Sciutto and Jake Clapper, I mean Jake Tapper, wrote the story containing Clapper's leak about the briefing, the story that got the RUSSIA Collusion op running.
Now, Even Perez writes an article reporting that James Tapper, I mean James Clapper, denies Trump's (true) charge that the intelligence agencies leaked.
Evan Perez must know Clapper is lying -- Clapper is one of CNN's sources for the story that Clapper is denying leaking about.
Is it ethical for Evan Perez to write up a "news report" containing information he knows to be a lie?
Could CNN not even bother to get an untainted journalist to type this up?
Unrelated: Evan Perez is a very close friend of Glenn Simpson and has vacationed with him. Further, Perez and Simpson used to share a byline at the Wall Street Journal.
Totally unrelated.
Exit Question: Will CNN feature a snarky chyron beneath the face of its new spin artist, Jake Tapper, I mean, James Clapper, stating "LOL This guy lies all the time and we print it up as truth LOL"?
