Jake Tapper a Former Spokesman for Handgun Control, Inc.?

So says Gateway Pundit, quoting an old news story identifying one "Jake Tapper" as a spokesman for Handgun Control, Inc. (which would later become the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence).

Now, I suppose it's possible that the Jake Tapper mentioned here is not the same Jake Tapper who a large number of cucky "conservatives" have homoerotic (at the very least) crushes on, but I've scanned Jake Tapper's twitter feed for a claim like this -- "Wrong Jake Tapper," that kind of thing -- and as far as I can tell he's just completely ignoring it.

And when someone in the media simply ignores a charge that they obviously have the power to respond to -- well, you can decide for yourself.

Of course, CNN did not disclose this before, during, or after its rowdy, Beer Hall Putsch-style "townhall," nor have they ever disclosed it, as far as I know.

By the way, a father and daughter have come forward to accuse CNN not of "scripting" questions as another Parkland student alleged, but at least of only soliciting a certain kind of opinion for their political advertisement masquerading as news.

Two victims of the February 14 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, have now come forward to say CNN producers filtered out opinions contrary to the rabid demands for gun control and confiscation that dominated the network’s Wednesday night town hall.

"I actually spoke to a CNN producer... the day after the shooting," Andrew Klein, father of Arianna Klein, a Douglas junior who survived the ordeal, told Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle" Thursday night. "The producer insinuated to me they were looking for people who were willing to espouse a certain narrative."

Klein's daughter, Ariana, survived the shooting ordeal in which former student Nikolas Cruz murdered 17 students and adults.... Both Kleins attended Wednesday's listening session with President Donald Trump at the White House.

The narrative that CNN preferred, the senior Klein told host Laura Ingraham, "was taking the tragedy and turning it into a policy debate, and I read that as being a gun control debate ... the producer said, 'We are looking for people who want to talk about the policy implications for preventing future mass shootings.'"

I have to admit I'm enjoying see Jake Tapper's #FakeNewsConservative Twitter Bitches all wailing and gnashing their teeth at the Shock Revelation that Tapper is a biased liberal with an agenda.

Oh, and this is good stuff:

Here's Jake Tapper's defense, which seems pretty weak to me.

So what happened was:

1. The student said she had a question for Dana Loesch, but then said she would ask it of Nelson.

2. The question actually accused "politicians," including Bill Nelson (a Democrat), of being "puppets" of the NRA and of taking "blood money."

3. Jake decided that this question would have to be held for Dana, even though the student herself said she didn't mind asking it of Nelson.

Before you say "But Bill Nelson wants to ban all guns so the question isn't applicable" -- well, no, that's not his stated position. The crowd cheered at the idea of banning all semi-automatic rifles; is that Bill Nelson's position? Certainly not -- not if he wants to get re-elected.

So is he a puppet of the NRA? Would he have offered a more nuanced take on gun control, had he been permitted to answer?

Has he ever taken NRA money, or sought their endorsement, or at least their non-opposition?

We could have heard this thoughts on this, but fortunately for us, Jake stepped in to keep Nelson from having to explain if he felt he had gun on his hands for opposing the banning of all semi-automatic rifles.

See what Jake is doing here? Moderating. But notice that his excuse as to why he let students accuse Marco Rubio of essentially being a mass-murderer himself is that he didn't feel it was his role to step in and keep these students from having their say.

But in this case, where a Democrat is asked about why "senators" are puppets of the NRA, he feels that it is the right time to step in and do some moderation and deny a grieving student her voice.

Oh -- and this is interesting, no?
