Media Just Embarrassing Itself Over the "Broward Coward"

JJ Sefton noted the report that the sheriff's deputy assigned to protect the Parkland school did nothing for six minutes during the rampage.

The cuck media is taking this a proof that "good guys with guns can't stop gun crime," not realizing that 1, this guy was actually a paid agent of the state and therefore 2, if paid agents of the state specifically assigned to carry guns to defend citizens won't do so, then 3, it's up to every private citizen to arm himself in order to protect himself.

No, he wasn't a "good guy with a gun," a shorthand expression for a private citizen with a gun. He was paid state agent and a cop who, reports say, chose to cower instead of doing the job taxpayers used to pay him to pretend to do.

Now, if you think that's dumb, and I'm pretty sure you do, well, here's even dumber.

Famous MSNBC tough-guy Lawrence O'Donnell, who uses a shitty Southie accent when he wants to fake-challenge people to fights on TV (ps, Lawrence, I'm game), has an interesting explanation as to why a citizen's handgun would be useless against an AR-15:

I'm not a Super-Expert on guns, but I rather think the AR-15's superior accuracy (longer barrels fire straighter shots; heavier barrels jump less from recoil) would be a factor in a pistol-vs.-rifle fight, but I don't think mere bullet speed would count all that much.

By the way, the guy with the pistol had an immense advantage over the shooter: He knew about the shooter, and he knew about where the shooter was (from the sounds of gunfire), but the shooter didn't know about him or where he was.

Now, it seems he was out taking a well-deserved smoke break, but had he been doing his job, he would have cautiously approached the shooter from a behind sort of angle and taken the not-so-difficult trick shot of shooing someone unaware right in his fucking back.

I'll have to check with Lawrence O'Donnell about how muzzle velocity would factor into that sort of an attack.

Oh, thanks to Commenter, former minor author Joyce Carol Oates wants to know why a paid guard armed with a mere "conventional" weapon could possibly be expected to do his job and shoot someone armed with an "AK-15."

States and municipalities may wish to try different policies, but arming so many teachers across the nation would increase the danger, not alleviate it. School shootings are a problem, but the odds of any one school being attacked is still, thankfully, minuscule. Put a gun in the classroom, and it might well become like Checkhov's gun: Eventually, somebody's going to use it.
