CNN Jerks Itself Off for 48 Hours Chasing Pictures of Trump Golfing, and a Mysterious White Truck Known Only As "Doctor Axles"
23: The number of times over the past day that CNN has mentioned the white box truck that obscured view of Trump golfing
0: For comparison, the number of times CNN has mentioned that Politico report on Obama admin's quashing of Hezbollah investigation. https://t.co/M07SwXvBpT
CNN has been trying to get to the bottom of "#TruckGate" -- the major, major story of a white truck that blocked their attempt to embarrass Trump by photographing him playing Trump -- for two straight days.
CNN, always focused on the most important stories of the day, had a meltdown when a white box truck blocked them from filming President Donald Trump on the golf course.
On Tuesday, a CNN reporter peeked through the bushes in order to videotape Trump golfing in Palm Beach, Florida. The shot was awkward -- and arguably a bit creepy -- but CNN bragged about the exclusive shot they got of the president.
Unsatisfied with just one day of footage, CNN went back to their spot on Wednesday, only to discover it had been blocked off by a white box truck. CNN repeatedly complained about the truck blocking their view on Twitter and on air, whining that they were on public property and suggesting they had a right to film the president on his own golf course.
See the videos and CNN's tweets about this at the link.
The Secret Service and the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office both denied responsibility for the truck, causing CNN to launch into full-on conspiracy theory mode.
"Today this truck showed up out of nowhere and actually moved at one point when our journalists tried to get a different angle," CNN’s Ryan Nobles cried. "It's clear no one wanted us to get a picture of the president golfing."
Although the Secret Service issued a very snarky denial...
CNN's quest to uncover an explanation for why a truck blocked its view of President Trump's golf course in West Palm Beach, Fla., on Wednesday stretched into a second day and once again bore no concrete answers.
Noah Gray, a producer for CNN who tweeted a picture of a white box truck in front of hedges adjacent to the golf course on Wednesday, tracked down what looked to be an identical, if not the same, truck parked Thursday in a parking lot at the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department.
Although the sheriff's department denied having ordered any truck to block CNN's Important Camera Views, CNN wasn't going to be put off the hunt just yet.
CNN's John Berman, who sat in for Anderson Cooper on his "360" evening program on Thursday, said that the truck, which was in a lot behind a fence, was parked in such a way that they could not compare license plates.
