The Morning Report 12/15/17
Good morning kids. Well, the weekend is here at last, thank goodness. It started off rough with a botched - not thwarted - terrorist attack in New York City and the shock of losing what should have been a solid Senate seat. Outside of just the preening, strutting and gloating by the Left, the shaky GOP majority in that chamber is now as thin as a red "c" hair. And with Thad "Christopher Pike" Cochran's and McCain's health failing or in doubt, passage of the GOP Tax Bill is on shaky ground. But we can thank the Good Lord above for giving us such wonderful leaders as Marco Rubio who is now threatening to vote "no" because lack of limelight has caused a vitamin D deficiency (D for Democrat, Devious, Douchebag, Dondi, etc. etc.). And with Bob Corker a solid no and Susan Collins troublesome, this thing is on thin ice. We need this bill since the economic benefits (as well as the political win for the GOP and PDT) should put the wind at our backs for 2018 and 2020. Madness.
Moving right along, the FCC voted 3-2 yesterday to once again make the internet free from the Orwellian so-called "Net Neutrality." Rush explained it best yesterday:
All right. Well, let me ask a question:Obama-era net neutrality rules are basically two years old. The internet came into existence from literally nothing and blossomed into what it was with anything you wanted. You can find anything you wanted, and you could buy different speeds. You could buy different packages. You could buy whatever you could afford, you could buy whatever you wanted, and look at what happened to the internet. It grew and grew and grew, and these people in Washington are sitting there seething that they don't have any control over it.
They are seething at this massive thing which is getting everybody involved. There was more free speech on the internet when it first started and for the next 15 years than there's ever been anywhere. There was more access to information the first 15 years of the internet when it was unregulated than anything ever in human history. New companies were born, large and small. Some succeeded; some failed. But it was a... Look at what happened to the tech industry with a free and open internet for the first 15 years before Obama and his crowd figures out, "You know, we don't have any control over this! We want to get our mitts in it."
Think back 10, 15 years. How bad was the internet? Look at all that was there, and it was free. You want the New York Times? It was free. You want anything; it was free, because they didn't know how to monetize it at first. Then they started doing paywalls, but that had nothing to do with internet regulation. That had to do with profit. So if you wanted to read the New York Times on the internet and you didn't have a subscription, lo and behold, you had to pay for it. Why would that be? Well, it costs them to produce it, or anything else.
My point is for the first 15 years of the internet, you could do anything you wanted on it. You could access anything you wanted on it. It was wide open. It grew and it created multibillionaires left and right. There was nothing wrong with it except the left didn't have their hands on it.
It should be axiomatic that anything the Left wants is a direct threat to your freedom and prosperity, and as such should be fought tooth and nail. I have several links to this but Rush's thoughts on this as well as a considered editorial from Investor's are worthy of your time.
Meanwhile, on the Insurrection front, as Rod Rosenstein seemingly cracks and gives up the entire sham to the broader public, the Democrat-Media complex is going into attack mode and starting the process of throwing Rosenstein under the bus. Judicial Watch has come up with some more revelations about how Hillary and Huma were protected by the then (and still current, really) State Dept. and Tu-Ca comes right out and accuses the FBI of waging war on the President by stonewalling and sabotaging the Congressional investigation into this entire shit-show.
Now, some goodies. Along with the great news about the Orwellian so-called "Net Neutrality" being given the heave ho, unnoticed (except here) is PDT's incredible record of killing 22 Federal regulations for every new one created and his incredible pace of judicial appointments, both of which (especially the latter) will have far reaching positive consequences for the nation well past his two terms in office, please G-d.
From hither and yon, in Groperdammerung news, of course a House investigator who is supposed to be investigating sexual harassment in Congress has, get this, now been accused of sexual harassment himself. If that is not illustrative of Big Government, I don't know what is. Ambassador Haley has revealed solid proof that Iran is in direct and flagrant violation of the UN vis a vis weapons sales and its treaty obligations, for whatever those are worth. Will there be consequences? The world wonders...
Before I go, don't let what happened in Alabama get you down. As shocking as it might have been, the political landscape in the nation has been completely changed and that is part and parcel with the election of President Trump last year. We are in a long war. Stay focused, carry on and count your blessings. Just as we will encounter setbacks along the way, remember that this a LONG struggle we are in. And there are great things happening and great things yet to come.
Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
