The Daily Shriek Out: Trump Refers to Elizabeth Warren as "Pocahantas" in Ceremony Honoring WW2 Navajo "Windtalker" Cryptologists

I don't know why this is offensive, but apparently it's The Worst Thing since The Last Thing.

"I just want to thank you because you are very, very special people. You were here long before any of us were here," Trump said. "Although, we have a representative in Congress who has been here a long time ... longer than you -- they call her Pocahontas!"

I don't know why this is offensive. His joke is that Elizabeth Warren is not an Indian. He's not making fun of Indians; he's making fun of a caucasian playing Indian for diversity promotion reasons.

This is obvious.

This is being called a "slur" by DNC leader Tom Perez, because, well, Democrats are demagogues.

Not only did Tom Perez call it a slur, but so did a more prominent Democrat spokesman:

Parts of the right can be expected to go into Eek-A-Mouse mode because they need to show their concern over things that are silly because liberals told them to.

I guess the violation here is that you're not allowed to make jokey asides at a ceremony that's #SoSerious? But why is that a rule? Who said you can't be ironic and jokey at something that is inherently celebretary?

Sarah Huckabee Sanders obviously meant this pie recipe and was not passing this picture off as a picture of her pie. Hint as to that: The entirely white background of the picture, which is something people use for stock photos. People taking pictures do not white out the background to produce a stock photo.
