Report: Megan McCain in Talks to Join "The View"
She recently announced her departure from Fox, citing her desire to focus on other priorities.
I guess "The View" is that priority.
I've liked Megan McCain more and more since around 2014 or so, as she transitioned, as they say, to being more of a conservative.
I don't know why she wants "The View" gig -- money and exposure, sure. And, honestly, those are pretty good things.
But it can't be an enjoyable experience to be the Designated Republican and have to deal with Joy Behar and Whoopie Goldberg and whatever other idiots they have on there now. A miserable job that pays a lot of money is still a miserable job.
Case in point: Jedediah Bila just quit the show, reportedly due to the Shrieking Prog Yentas on the show being angry about her civil-but-skeptical questioning of Hillary Clinton.
"There was a lot of staff who were upset about how that interview was handled," says the source, speculating that "The View" wants the former secretary of state to appear on the show multiple times. "They had a lot to say to Jedediah about calming things down."
We’re told that Bila was signed on for the full season but "she left on her own accord,” the source adds. “There were some things making her uncomfortable behind the scenes, but she loves the cast. She seems to be looking forward to sharing her view in a world where there seems to be only one worldview."
A rep for Bila declined to comment.
The show's reps claimed they were fine with Bila's questions, but note that Bila's rep did not echo that Happy Talk. And note that Bila seems to be signalling her displeasure about this on Twitter:
And if you can't see the tweet he's referring to -- well, it's been deleted. (I should have posted this earlier when it was still there!)
All the tweet was was a 40 second clip of Bila's questions for Clinton -- presumably to show that the questions were polite and fair, and simply an example of actual journalism, instead of smothering Hillary Clinton with #GirlPowerHugz.
The fact that she deleted an on-its-face innocuous tweet may suggest that she got a talking to by The View's producers or something, telling her it was in her interest to go along with the Happy Talk Parting Amicably story.
So that's what Megan McCain is looking down the barrel of. Unless she switches her politics fast to be more #GirlPowerHugz. Which I hope she doesn't, because I don't want to go back to being annoyed by her again.
Meanwhile, it's official. Or at least, it's more official: Laura Ingraham will debut her new Fox show at 10pm on October 30th, while Sean Hannity moves to 9pm.
So the lineup will be Tucker at 8, Hannity at 9, and Ingraham at 10.
The Five, meanwhile, is returning to five o'clock, where it really should be.
