Berkeley City Council Finally Permits Police to Use Pepper Spray Against Violent "Protesters"
This comes as dangerous alt-right Nazi Stormtrooper Ben Shapiro rolls into town to spread his intolerable anti-semitic ravings.
Shapiro, the editor in chief of The Daily Wire, is an Orthodox Jew and a vocal opponent of the alt-right and other fringe white nationalist groups. Nevertheless, Refuse Fascism, a group that has previously organized violent demonstrations in Berkeley, labeled Shapiro a "fascist thug" and "white supremacist" over the weekend.
"Fascist thug [and] white supremacist Ben Shapiro is coming to UC Berkeley — The issue is not 'Free Speech,'" the group wrote in a Facebook post. "The Issue is Fascism."
Notorious alt-right Klansters, the Berkeley City Council, has voted in favor of letting its reichwing police force use pepper spray against the forces of justice and tolerance, who were, of course, planning on bringing their own pepper spray, but good pepper spray, you know, the anti-fascist kind.
Police at the University of California, Berkeley had been prohibited from using pepper spray for 20 years, but repeated political unrest throughout 2017 forced the city council’s hand in a 6-3 vote Tuesday, the Associated Press reported. Violent protests have erupted in the town in February, March, April, and August of this year, often ignited by Antifa members who object to the presence of conservative speakers on Berkeley’s campus.
That permission comes with strict limitations (unfortunately). The police won't be permitted to spray groups of these monsters, but only specific individuals committing acts of violence.
Oh well. It's something.
Shapiro and the Young America's Foundation, which is sponsoring the upcoming event, have paid Berkeley more than $15,000 in security costs to ensure the event moves forward. Previously, Berkeley cancelled appearances from Milo Yiannopoulos in February and Ann Coulter in April amid fears of violent counter protests. Violent protests ravaged the town despite the cancellations.
If there are violent riots by the left, CNN will be right there, airing Part 3 of its 12 part special, Jake Tapper: Hero of Shut-Ins Who Like When Semi-celebrities RT Them on Twitter.
