"Zoey" Tur, a Transgender Woman Who Used To Be (and Some Might Say, Still Is) a Man, Accuses Hyperprog Daughter Katy Tur of Being "Transphobic" and Insufficiently Dedicated to Trans Cause "In These Alt-Right Times"
In a case of He Said, She Said, "Zoey" Tur says that Katy Turn won't talk to xher any more because of xher "transition," and Katy Tur disputes that.
"Truth is my daughter does not support the LGBT community. She's Transphobic and fearful that it will hurt her career as a broadcaster in these alt-right times. Career before family. In the words of Paddy Chayefsky: She's pure television," Zoey wrote in the Facebook post.
I would imagine that any woman who used to date Keith Olbermann for three years -- apparently unashamedly, for some reason -- is not particularly interested in currying favor from the "alt-right."
The biologically-female Tur disputes Zoey's claims:
"We were not on speaking terms for a little while. But that's not because of the transition," she told the Times.
Incidentally, in that NYTimes article, Katy Turn says her mother used to "hang out of helicopters," referring to her father's (now mother's) prior career of being a helicopter weather reporter.
So it seems Katy Tur does accept that her father is now her Mother.
[Ben] Shapiro filed the [police] report Sunday morning, two days after a contentious exchange with Tur on the HLN program Dr. Drew. On a panel discussion over Bruce Jenner’s receipt of ESPN’s Arthur Ashe Courage Award, Tur grabbed Shapiro’s neck and growled, "You cut that out now, or you’ll go home in an ambulance."
Women frequently grab men by the neck and threaten to punch them up.
Shapiro later alleged that Tur had threatened him after the appearance, "I'll see you in the parking lot," and that CNN security had escorted Shapiro to his car after ensuring Tur had left the premises.
If I had a dollar for every time grandma said that to me.
Beyond the shock and novelty of the "sexy chest," the Huffington Post points out that the swimsuit can also be seen as a clever response to societal norms and body expectations in America. While a man's "beach body" can be topless and hairy, expectations are different for women.
