Eesh: Trump Asks Vaccine Truther Robert F. Kennedy Jr. To Head Panel on Vaccines and "Scientific Integrity"
It's like asking a dumb, imbred fox to guard the henhouse.
Well, when you get Trump, you get Trump's appetite for conspiracy theories too.
"He asked me to chair a commission on vaccine safety and scientific integrity ... I said I would," [Robert F. Kennedy Jr.] said.
"President-elect Trump has some doubts about the current vaccine policies and he has questions about it. His opinion doesn't matter, but the science does matter and we ought to be reading the science and we ought to be debating the science."
Well, there is an aspect of vaccine policy which is usefully re-examined: How old children should be before they're vaccinated. Some people have said kids shouldn't be immunized before four or so, and I think that's considered a not-crazy question.
But then, I don't know. I feel a bit sheepish about condemning this because, like most Global Warming zealots, I really don't know the science here -- I just know what people say.
This feeds into my other worry about Trump -- that he's a star-struck star-f***er and just really digs celebrities and will do what they say if they say nice things about him. Even if it's really a non-celebrity like RFKJr.
And also: Intelligence officials have presented Trump with evidence (they say) that the Russians have made efforts to dig into Trump's personal and financial information, presumably to compromise him/extort him.
These senior intelligence officials also included the synopsis to demonstrate that Russia had compiled information potentially harmful to both political parties, but only released information damaging to Hillary Clinton and Democrats. This synopsis was not an official part of the report from the intelligence community case about Russian hacks, but some officials said it augmented the evidence that Moscow intended to harm Clinton's candidacy and help Trump's, several officials with knowledge of the briefings tell CNN.
The two-page synopsis also included allegations that there was a continuing exchange of information during the campaign between Trump surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government, according to two national security officials.
That may or may not cool Trump's bromance with Putin.
Oh: Apparently this information was fed to the CIA and FBI by... #NeverTrumper oppo researchers.
