One of the first things I do when I find an artist who intrigues me is to go to Wikipedia, because they have a large library of free art, and most of the reproductions are large format, so the link I embed in the image usually leads to a big reproduction.

When I glanced at this guy's (SWIDT?) Wikipedia page, I discovered that he was, in addition to being a painter, an "educator."

I should have known.

This is crap art. In fact, this piece is perhaps his most impressive work. I am sure that there is an art critic out there who can explain to me why du Bois' grotesque representations of the human form are wonderful, but I ain't buying it.

I think he was a crappy artist with no talent and he sort of stumbled on a career, because art was suffering from a crisis of confidence....
