Re: Your GAINZZZ, Brah
So we made some BIG GAINZZZZ in the statehouses and the White House (and soon, the court house), and suffered some minor but not un-fixable Gainzz Lozzez in the Senate and House.
I'll do a real post next week, but I want to get something up now.
My own GAINZZ are small but steady, so I guess that's okay. An upside surprise is that bodyweight calesthenics are having an impact on muscle gain. It's kind of visible now, beyond the "I might just be imagining things here" level.
Having become more of a believer that simple at-home bodyweight exercises (push-ups of various kinds, airweight squats or just weighted down with gallon jugs of water or a backpack filled with water bottles, pull-ups (using a stepladder to do negative pull-ups or just using the legs to supply the minimum force needed to allow the upper body to chin up), planks, etc.) can get you some big GAINZZZ without the bother of a gym, I've been looking through various bodyweight-workout youtube accounts like this guy's, but I haven't put together a plan yet.
Added: This five minute push-up workout looks tough enough.
One would probably need barbell work to get maximum possible GAINZZZ, or to make the step up into MOAR GAINZZ when bodyweight training starts to provide less and less benefit, but I figure: Most people who aren't yet already weightlifting at the gym probably can get at least six months of solid GAINZZZ from bodyweight (or just throw a backpack filled with water on your back enhanced-bodyweight) stuff before they actually have to hit the gym for further GAINZZZ.
Seems cheap as hell and very convenient, with no worry about showing up at the gym lookin' all like a n00b with no reason to live.
So:
Tell me about your GAINZZZ. You know you gotta get some GAINNZZZ going before Thanksgiving, right?
You know what you should be thankful for on Thanksgiving? That's right -- BICEPZ.
