ESPN -- You Know, the Sports Channel -- Giving Obama an Hour of Air Time
Yes. Because he fills out his "brackets" instead of bombing ISIS. That makes him a sports celebrity, somehow.
Gotten from Ed Driscoll at Instapundit, who also notes NFL ratings are set to drop for a fifth week.
I can't steal the man's whole post so you'll have to go over there for that article. However, I'll drop a couple of details.
The Sunday Night Football matchup, between the Green Bay Packers and the New York Giants, should have been a pretty highly-watched game. The Packers are worshipped in Green Bay, and NY is obviously a major (the most major, I imagine) football market.
And the Giants, from what I understand, are kind of okay this year.
So -- the ratings: 10.2. Down from 13.1 from game five of 2015. (Which I believe was a match up of San Francisco and NY as well-- also a good game, I guess, but the Giants were weaker last year, though I guess people weren't certain of how weak they were yet.)
The game had the lowest overnight ratings (preview ratings collected from just the biggest markets, which will be adjusted to the final ratings, but which are a strong indicator of the approximate level of viewership) of any game since a week 8 game in 2013.
And like I said: On paper, this sounds like a game worth a watch.
Of course, it was up against the debate. So says the NFL, which continues denying they have a problem.
Moral scolds and vindictive idealists (those who postulate an ideal, and then vindictively use an ideal, a exceptional aspiration, as a basis for judging those who are more average) aren't the only people living in Pretendistan.
