Harriet Tubman to Replace Andrew Jackson on Front of $20 Bill; Alexander Hamilton Will Keep the $10

There was a lot of pushback by conservatives who suggested that it should be the Democrat slave enthusiast Jackson who got the boot, rather than Hamilton, who managed the country's finances when the country was dead broke from the Revolutionary War.

Of course it wasn't conservatives who won the argument, or any argument about history, or the Constitution, or America that won the day --none of that has any voice in the leftist dominated, relentless-pursuit-of-the-trivial national discussion.

It was a dumb (in the sense it's not a terribly serious thing) Broadway musical employing hip-hop to tell Hamilton's life story that ignited the ADD attention of liberals and won the day.*

As Andrew Breitbart always said: Politics is downstream of culture.

And so Hamilton keeps his place, not due to any argument about his historical importance, but because of pure happenstance that at this particular moment the NY-DC-LA media axis had a brief enthusiasm for, get this, a lavish buzzworthy watercooler-factor entertainment spectacle.

Just like the Greatest Generation: sitting in a comfortable chair, watching Staged Entertainment. Watching. Spectating. Consuming Media.

* I hear it's good. Caveat: For a Broadway Musical. But it's still deeply dumb to make decisions based on what song-and-dance-extravaganza is the Hot Ticket on Broadway for this blip in time.
