Judge Rules that "Jackie" Can Be Deposed in Rolling Stone Defamation Lawsuit

Nicole Eramo was portrayed in Sabrina Rubin Erdely's article as being callous and unresponsive to "Jackie's" need for help, following a gang rape perpetrated by as many as zero fraternity brothers.

Eramo is suing Erdely and Rolling Stone for this false portrayal, and alleges that "Jackie's" story should have been seen as nonsense by any reputable journalist or magazine.

"Jackie" alleged that if she were deposed, she could experience traumatic flashbacks to the events which did not occur. These non-memories could cause a lasting psychological harm sometimes termed "Non-Traumatic Stress Disorder."

A judge has ruled that, despite the danger from NTSD, "Jackie" will have to answer questions nevertheless.

"Jackie's" lawyer put out a press release saying "This is like not raping my client all over again." The statement said that Hoax Rape Survivors, like "Jackie," have traumatic flashbacks every single night they're not raped -- which is most of them.

But note, as Jazz Shaw does, that the transcripts of the deposition will be sealed, so we'll never see them, unless, I guess, they're presented in court. And also note that Eramo's ability to probe into the non-events which did not cause harm to "Jackie's" psyche during this imaginary outrage will be restricted, probably, and "Jackie" will probably mostly be asked about "Jackie's" own refusal to give Eramo a full accounting of the the events which did not happen on the night upon which virtually nothing at all occurred.
