Ace of Spades Pet Thread [Misanthropic Humanitarian]
Grab a treat, down and stay for the latest installment of the Ace of Spades Pet Thread.
Ever wonder how cat litter came about. Our own Hank Curmudgeon submitted this for us.
From the Society for Industrial Archeology Newsletter, Vol. 45, No. 1, 2016, Pg. 16:
“[The Hagley Museum & Library, Wilmington, Delaware] has also received a donation of papers from the Edward Lowe Foundation. Lowe (1920-1995) was a pioneer in the development of the cat box filler industry and inventor of clay-based Kitty Litter in 1947. Prior to Kitty Litter, most domestic cats went outdoors although some owners used ashes and sand in rudimentary litter boxes. The invention has been credited with enabling owners to keep more cats indoors. Today, cat litter is a billion-dollar a-year industry.—Hagley Collection & Research News (Oct. 25, 2015)
Hey, it's time to meet the gang
Our first Moron Pet is Conor T. Hrothgar. He's a very sweet, headstrong and intelligent French Bulldog. He's good for a few laughs a day, or so says Hrothgar.
Wandering Neuron submitted this photo of Stripes & Misty. They are sibs. Looks like a challenge to get both of them set for the photo. Per Wandering the cats also play with the Chihuahua that lives with them.
We have a lurker by the name of Anthony B. His submission was of his dog Hank. Hank was dressed up for a Halloween Party. Anthony submitted several photos he stated this was his favorite of Hank.
Moron McGyver submitted several photos. The managing editors selected this one to share with you. 4 well behaved doggehs looking forward to a well deserved T-R-E-A-T. Nice looking gang there Mc.
Lynne J, who remains faceless, sent in these lap warmers. Meet Mao, Malli & Saffy. Who needs blankets when you have such warm blankets? Looks like she knows how to herd cats.
Here's a photo of Chance. The cat seems amused with posing for the camera. We wish we could give credit to the 'ette who submitted this photo. However without a nic we couldn't.
Jim K sent in this photo Fats The Cat. Fats is deceased but Jim said he was the best cat ever.
We appreciate the compliments and the photographs. The Horde has been wonderful about sending in photos. Just a gentle reminder we need your pet's name and your nic name. If you sent in a photo without this information could you resend with the requested information? We really need this so we can give your pet its deserved attention. We also ask you to be patient, we will get to all of the photos. Thanks again for stopping by. Thanks again, L, Elle & Misanthropic Humanitarian.
