Jury Deadlocked in Trial of Officer Accused in Freddie Gray Death
What riotous news!
This is the trial for William Porter, accused of second-degree assault and manslaughter.
Judge Barry Williams ordered the jury to return to chambers to try and reach a unanimous decision.
"Compromise if you can do so without violence to your own moral judgement," Williams said.
Compromise? Do they usually say that? Can you compromise on the issue of reasonable doubt?
Juries do compromise -- but I don't know if a judge is supposed to tell them to do so.
