National Enquirer Claims That Charlie Sheen Has Been Diagnosed With HIV

Last week the Sun reported that it was an "open secret" that a major Hollywood "A lister" and notorious lothario had been diagnosed with HIV, causing a bit of a panic in Hollywood among the women he'd slept with (and the men who had in turn slept with the women he'd slept with.

The National Enquirer is now saying that man is Charlie Sheen.

The publication said it has completed an "exhaustive" 18-month long investigation and can finally uncover how "television's one-time highest paid star potentially spread the devastating virus to dozens of unsuspecting women."

Sheen has boasted of sleeping with 5000 women.

There is reason to think the National Enquirer article may be right: Sheen is scheduled to make a "revealing personal announcement" to Matt Lauer tomorrow. The Hollywood Reporter writes:

Charlie Sheen will be making a "revealing personal announcement" to Matt Lauer on Tuesday, Nov. 17 on Today.
The Today show announced the live in-studio interview with the actor on Monday. The interview will be posted on Today.com after it airs, according to the press release.

Recently, RadarOnline published a blind item about a Hollywood actor who had been diagnosed as HIV-positive. The article sparked a firestorm of speculation about the identity of the actor, and many readers suggested Sheen fit the profile.
