A Reagan Doctrine for the 21st Century. Sad to note that some of the candidates running for President don't truly understand what is happening over there. As the article notes, the knee jerk reaction of calling for a no-fly zone now is well past time.
The Middle East is collapsing, its state system in free fall. The Arab Spring long ago turned into an Islamist Winter. An Iranian-Russian military axis hungry for hegemony and higher oil prices gathers strength on Arabia's borders. And America is headed for the exits, leaving little in its wake but demoralized allies, emboldened adversaries, and chaos.
The shrill voices in our media-entertainment complex have convinced the country that females are perpetual victims, lorded over by sex-obsessed alpha males. False narratives about a rape epidemic on college campuses have only fueled this womanly fire.
Men have resorted to actively separating themselves from awkward situations with females in the office. They refuse to have closed-door meetings without a witness present. Comments on a co-worker's dress choice are off-limits, lest they be construed as a come-on. It's gotten to the point where a guy can't even open the door for his feminine co-worker without engendering feelings of inferiority.
Meanwhile, the experts charge, government agencies apparently still don't perform routine security tasks that are commonplace in the private sector, there is little evidence that the Obama administration is holding top agency officials accountable for the laxness, and literally hundreds of recommendations to government agencies on how to enhance security remain unaddressed.
There is no accountability in this administration. Zero. Zip. Nil.
