Overnight Open Thread (10 Oct 2015)

A Reagan Doctrine for the 21st Century. Sad to note that some of the candidates running for President don't truly understand what is happening over there. As the article notes, the knee jerk reaction of calling for a no-fly zone now is well past time.

And then ponder this. It's time for the United States to start worrying about a Saudi collapse.

The Middle East is collapsing, its state system in free fall. The Arab Spring long ago turned into an Islamist Winter. An Iranian-Russian military axis hungry for hegemony and higher oil prices gathers strength on Arabia's borders. And America is headed for the exits, leaving little in its wake but demoralized allies, emboldened adversaries, and chaos.

Leading From Behind

Jeez. This move was painfully obvious over a year ago. New U.S. plan to counter ISIS is to arm the Kurds. Well kind of anyway. Half assed as usual.

Border Security

The India-Pakistan border can be seen from space. Now that's paying attention to your border.

Chinese Hacker Arrest

Something tells me this is just for show. China quietly arrests hackers that the US named.

Chromosomal Damage

Yes, everything is considered sexual harassment for men in the workplace these days.

The shrill voices in our media-entertainment complex have convinced the country that females are perpetual victims, lorded over by sex-obsessed alpha males. False narratives about a rape epidemic on college campuses have only fueled this womanly fire.

Men have resorted to actively separating themselves from awkward situations with females in the office. They refuse to have closed-door meetings without a witness present. Comments on a co-worker's dress choice are off-limits, lest they be construed as a come-on. It's gotten to the point where a guy can't even open the door for his feminine co-worker without engendering feelings of inferiority.

DIY Firenado

Don't try this at home. Maybe your neighbors.

Aging Cheap Bourbon

How to make instant "aged" bourbon out of the cheap stuff.

In California...

...high schools will now teach your kids how to ask for sex. Hopefully it isn't taught common core style. Shouldn't this be done by parents when they feel it is prudent?

How about teachers getting training on how not to have sex with their students?

There was no cybersecurity sprint. It was just a soundbite for the MSM fluffers. US cybersecurity sprint slows to a stroll.

Meanwhile, the experts charge, government agencies apparently still don't perform routine security tasks that are commonplace in the private sector, there is little evidence that the Obama administration is holding top agency officials accountable for the laxness, and literally hundreds of recommendations to government agencies on how to enhance security remain unaddressed.

There is no accountability in this administration. Zero. Zip. Nil.

Hmmm. I'm leery but I might have to tune in. Relatives have 'proof' Alcatraz escapees are still alive.

Skywalker Shoe

I suspect Anna Puma will be getting these Skywalker Shoes.
