"Hostel" Director Eli Roth's New Movie Features Social Justice Warriors Who Go to the Rainforest and Get Eaten by Cannibals Because He Actually Seems to Despise Social Justice Warriors
Yes, the violence will be overly-graphic if his past work is any indication, and sure, this does sound a lot like a classic South Park episode, but man, I might have to see The Green Inferno anyway.
Will the audience be cheering when these twits (sp?) get eaten? I know I will be.
Clip below the jump, but here is Roth discussing Social Justice Warriors.
So "Green Inferno" is your reaction to the #SJWs of twitter?
Yeah. I actually wrote it, and when I finished the draft Kony 2012 happened. I was like this is it. Everyone is going, "What's wrong with you?' They’re drinking their mugs going 'Don't you care about child soldiers and kids being raped how can you not tweet this video?' Everyone got so self righteous and publicly shaming. It was something that they hadn’t heard of 24 hours ago. I think it's a double edged sword. I think there are ways to get involved and ways to be helpful. But the SJW culture has gotten so out of control. That you feel that everyone, are they doing it because they believe in it? Or do they just want to look like good people? Are people retweeting things because they think it's important or because they want everyone to think that they're a caring person? And I'm not making a judgment on these people either way. I'm just making a comment on it.
They do get eaten by cannibals...
They get eaten by cannibals yeah. Exactly.
A while ago someone asked me to comment on a script featuring cannibals in the jungle. I said, "It's a great idea, cannibals are scary and a b-movie horror staple, but they haven't been done in 30 years, because of Political Correctness. You cannot feature savage non-whites attacking, and eating, whites."
I suggested he could cop out and make the savages actually a group of white people lost in the jungle who'd reverted to primitivism.
That way, you can say, Hey, my cannibals are White, and we know that all white people are evil exploiters, so we're on the side of Social Justice.
See? Such a fine line between clever and stupid.
As long as the Bad People are White, it's not racist!
(You can also have that "thinky" moment where the survivors realize the cannibals are also survivors, but reverted to primitivism, and then the survivors, as they're fighting each other over whoever's escape plan is less obviously terrible, can say, "You know who the real savages are? Us, man. Us."
See, that's deep, man. "The enemy is really us" is still deep even though it's a cliched bit of bullshit that's been done 75,000 times.)
Anyway, as you'll see from the below clip, it looks like Eli Roth has gone that root. The cannibals wear face-disguising make-up, but I can tell they're white.
Not blaming him; that's what I would have done.
But it is instructive that even in making a movie critiquing out-of-control Social Justice Warrior Thought Policing, you must still bow to out-of-control Social Justice Warrior Thought Policing.
Correction: Thunder B says I'm wrong and as usual, I am in fact wrong.
In the Wikipedia entry, the film is being protested by someone getting all crankypants about colonialism and exploiting indigenous peoples, or whatever. You know, typical cryface check-your-privilege blubbermouth bullshit.
So, they're actually a primitive indigenous tribe. Not white people!
Also, IMDB lists a hispanic name for someone playing "The Bald Headhunter," which suggests these are supposed to be aboriginal, uncontacted Indian people.
Roth apparently took ten levels in Not Giving A F***.
Oh, related: A Social Justice Warrior asshole set out to "check his own privilege" by working in "gritty" conditions, to wit, a falafel shop in a nice, white, wealthy part of a city.
