The Leftwing Media Tries Covering the "Sad Puppies" Affair

I'm just curious -- when EW claims it "misinterpreted" stories in "news" publications -- does it just mean fucking left wing blogs?
Do they mean the fantastically left-wing Guardian, and its various Comment is Free blogs?
Are blogs considered trusted media if (and only if) they're leftwing?
I don't know how many actual "news" organizations reported this -- though I did see lots of slanted coverage in leftwing blogs. io9, for example, which, I think, is a Gawker aggregation blog.
