Sunday Travel Thread: Crowdsourcing Edition [Y-not]

Commenter PMRich, who was possibly inspired by KT's beautiful images of desert flowers, asked this in the Gardening Thread yesterday:

Nice shots of scenes in AZ.

Will read in a few minutes. But any specific suggestions for travel directions sight seeing would be appreciated.

Going to be in PHX for 2 weeks starting 2/23

'Seemed like a good excuse to have a Travel Thread today.

Meanwhile, I would love to hear from you on what to do during a long-weekend in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Any suggestions of things to do, places to see, restaurants to try, etc? Try to keep it within a doable "day trip" (i.e.: within a 3 hour drive of DFW).
