Incompetent One-Note Simpleton Eugene Robinson: Boy Oh Boy, We Should Be Glad These Terrorist Attacks Occurred in France and Not in America, Because If They Happened in America, They Would Have Had Guns And There Would Have Been MOAR CARNAGE

Let me just note: They all had AK-47s, and, seriously, all day Wednesday they were reporting that the Charlie terrorists had a lance-fusée, a fucking Rocket Launcher, out in the street as they were making their getaway in northern France.

But Eugene Robinson, who is an incompetent, says: Imagine what they would have done if they had ready access to firearms!

"Just to keep it into perspective," he said as Andrea Mitchell wrapped up an hour of covering the two police raids on hostage-takers in France, "I don't think we should imagine that the conditions and the threat are exactly the same in the United States as they are in France. They are different."

To wit, he suggested the main difference is that, in the U.S., "weapons are universally available and so it is actually a very good thing that, that the tensions are not exactly the same because we would expect to have a lot more carnage."
