#BringBackOurGirls: Boko Haram Says Kidnapped Girls Will "Never" Be Freed; Have Been Converted to Islam, and Married Off

A couple of weeks ago there was a report that Boko Haram had agreed to a cease-fire and that the 219 schoolgirls they kidnapped would be freed.

Now they are saying they never agreed to anything like that, and that the girls will "never" be freed.

The leader of Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram has issued a new video in which he denied claims of a deal to free the 200 girls kidnapped in April from a school in the northern town of Chibok.

Abubakar Shekau, the mercurial leader of the Islamist group, smirked as he said that the girls would never be released because they had been "married off" to fighters.
"The issue of the girls is long forgotten because I have long ago married them off," he said, laughing. "In this war, there is no going back."

Apparently a man named "Danladi Ahmadu" had presumed to speak on behalf of Boko Haram. Boko Haram says they have no idea who he is.

"We don't know that liar and fake Danladi Ahmadu, we never met this liar with his character as he is claiming," said Shekau.

"We have nothing to do with him, and our war is not ending. Expect more – what you are seeing is just a little effort. There is no retreat in this Jihad; Allah is with us, and we are succeeding."

To make his point, Shekau ordered his men to attack the hometown of Air Marshal Alex Badeh, the chief of defence, who on October 17 had announced the ceasefire.

He also boasted:

"Don't you know the over 200 Chibok schoolgirls have converted to Islam?" Abubakar Shekau said. "They have now memorized two chapters of the Quran."

Boko Haram has in fact been kidnapping fresh victims all the while.

In recent months, Boko Haram has stepped up its efforts, kidnapping young women and teenagers from the places where they should be safest: their homes and schools. On Oct. 18, the day after the Nigerian military announced that it had reached a cease-fire agreement with the group, Boko Haram went on a house-to-house search for young women in two Nigerian towns, taking 60. Last weekend, Boko Haram kidnapped 30 teenagers, including girls as young as 11 years old.

More than 7,000 Nigerians have died since Boko Haram began its insurgency in 2009. In the first six months of this year, the group killed 2,053 civilians.

Now 100 prisoners are on the loose after a jailbreak for which culpability was claimed by Boko Haram.

In Kogi, national police spokesman Emmanuel Ojukwu said unidentified gunmen blew up the prison with explosives late on Sunday, allowing scores to escape.

Jacob Edi, spokesman for Kogi’s Governor Idris Wada, added: "There were 145 prisoners at the time of the attack.

"One died, eight have been recaptured and four surrendered voluntarily. The rest are at large."

Kogi is far south of Boko Haram's main area of operations but the Islamists claimed a prison raid at the same facility in 2012 that freed more than 100 inmates.

I realize that Obama has given our ADD media quite a few disasters to cover, but could they please bother themselves to occasionally file televised updates on stories they once acknowledged as being major?

They really just seem to be absolutely refusing any story that seems negative for Obama.
