An Interview With A Virologist [CBD]

Here is a fascinating interview with Virologist Heinz Feldmann, who seems to have a science-based view of the Ebola problem.

I read this several days ago, and have reread it just to appreciate his calm demeanor and rational approach to the epidemic.

As is par for the course (see what I did there?) with this administration, at first we under-reacted, and now are rushing to overreact! I fully expect that within a week they will be pulling six year olds out of 1st grade for the sniffles, flying them to a secret location in Utah; never to be heard from again.

[addendum] A few commenters noticed the potential legal restrictions mentioned in the article on removing blood and other samples from Liberia without permission from the Liberian government.

As much as it is tempting to assume that there is some right to scientific examination that trumps the law of the land....Liberia has the right to control what occurs on its land. Maybe it's dumb, but it is certainly understandable.
