This Is So Awful That I Must Share
You know, what "multiculturalism" means, in actual practice, is that you don't just get to experience your own culture's dysfunctions and massive trove of shit art; you get to enjoy the dysfunctions and shit art of foreigners as well.
I came across this in a French newspaper which is ticking down the biggest Hits of the Summer for the last several decades in France.
So, the below was a huge hit. Per Wikipedia:
"Joe le taxi" (English: "Joe the Taxi Driver") is a French song written by Franck Langolff and Étienne Roda-Gil for French singer Vanessa Paradis. It was later included in her debut album, M&J, which was released in 1988.
It's nice that the singer is 14, but the writers aren't, and the song is horrible. It doesn't even seem like an actual song to me. I don't even hear a melody, nevermind a hook.
And yet it was at the top of the charts for 11 weeks in France -- and, inexplicably, for three in England.
Anyway, this is just so terrible, I think you need to watch it.
Top of the charts. Not "on the charts." Topped them. Runaway summer smash.

By the way, how innovative is that video? As she sings he "knows all the little bars," the screen shows a little bar called "The Little Bar" (le p'tit bar).
Way to work the metaphor!
(Actually, @tsrblke says he thinks those silly pictures were added, well after the fact, by the uploader. That seems very likely to me now, now that I notice how silly they are.)
