"A Loathsome Bit of NewSpeak:" Obama Calls for Republicans to Set Aside Republican Economic Beliefs and Embrace "Economic Patriotism"
The eternal complaint of the tyrant: My policies aren't failing. They're being sabotaged by seditionists in our midst.
Also in that speech, Obama reverted to his mantra about building roads and bridges.
There's nothing wrong with building roads and bridges, of course. The problem is that he seems to be claiming all of his overspending is for this purpose.
And he claims this every single year.
When the going gets tough, and it seems like everything is falling apart, everyone likes to retreat to their safe place.
Some find comfort in their faith. Others find comfort in family.
For President Obama, it's a "pivot" to jobs and the economy.
Now, it's not exactly new for a U.S. president to lobby for increased infrastructure spending. But it's always interesting to watch for when the Obama administration trots out another "big" policy speech on American jobs and investing in infrastructure.
And "roads and bridges."
My goodness, but the president does enjoy talking about "roads and bridges." So much so, in fact, that it has been a common theme of his nearly six years in the White House.
Hit the link for Obama's many, many claims of jus' wantin' to build some roads and bridges for the American folks.
A word I keep hearing from Charles C.W. Cooke and, I think, his partner in podcast Kevin Williamson, is "wreckers."
I assume this is a propaganda slur from communists to explain away their failures -- it wasn't communism that failed, it was treasonous wreckers working to Stab the Economy in the bank that failed us all.
I just mention that because now that Obama is broaching the subject of "economic patriotism," it seems not too far off that "wreckers" will soon be blamed. After all, the "wreckers" are the sworn enemies of the "economic patriots."
