Buzzfeed: Republican Tim Huelskamp Declares "Women Need Husbands!"

Pretty bad, huh? But here's what Huelskamp actually said:

"I wanna close with this, a message to every man in America, every man in this crowd, every husband in America," Huelskamp said. "Your children need you. Your woman, your wife, she needs you. It’s time that you become a real man and stand up for those that need you. Love your family, love your wife, love your children because they desperately need you. They’re desperately looking for a husband. They’re desperately looking for a father. Be a real man of God, because this is about you. Marriage is about you, and your wife, and your children."

Well that's rather different, isn't it? Rather than suggesting an incompleteness in women, Huelskamp actually was talking about an incompleteness in men.

So after taking heat for grossly, deliberately, viral-linkedly distorting Huelskamp's remarks in the typical Buzzfeed Cat Video style (You Won't Believe What This Cat Does With a Boba Fett Helmet!!!), Buzzfeed now changes the headline to:

Republican Congressman Tells Men: Wives “Desperately” Need Their Husbands To Step Up

...and includes this understated notification:

CORRECTION

An earlier version of this story mischaracterized Huelskamp’s remarks.

But Buzzfeed already accomplished Obama's goals for him: He won the Twitter war for the day.
