Jill Abramson, Who Once Called The New York Times Her Religion, Fired by the New York Times
"The New York Times was our religion," she said of her family's ethos.
And now her church has excommunicated her, citing "differences in creative vision" or something.
Sulzberger made it clear the decision was his, not Abramson’s, and that it had to do with her management style, which many at the paper found abrasive.
#BanBossy?
“We had an issue with management in the newsroom,” Sulzberger said, according to Times reporter Ravi Somaiya, who was one of several Times staffers posting updates on Twitter.
Baquet was widely reported to be the other chief candidate considered to succeed Bill Keller when he stepped down as executive editor in 2011. Just as Abramson was the first woman to run the paper’s newsroom, Baquet will be the first African-American to hold the job.
Look, I'm just hoping for a major feminist backlash against Sulzberger and his Male Privilege newsroom for deciding that any Female in Authority is "too abrasive."
