Overnight Open Thread (21 Dec 2013)

Welcome to the longest night of the year morons. Ah, the first day of winter and it was friggin' over 70 degrees today. So nice. Sadly, it will get cold again in a few days. Well no white Christmas for me but the rest of you can see if you might have a chance for a white Christmas.

Santa Reindeer Question

This is a good question for the horde. Are Santa's reindeer used for propulsion or navigation?

Ridiculous Inventions

Wooden swimsuits. A kinder, gentler form of barrel punishment I presume.

Pretty cool to look at some ridiculous inventions from the past.

Of course, the Japanese have been inventing some crazy stuff for awhile now but the Robot Restaurant might have to be visited.

We're told each show is different but they are all broken up into various scenes, and only one of those I saw had any semblance of a story. It involved invading (extraterrestrial?) robots who battle against pandas and animal deities. Beyond that, none of it made sense. A giant LED tank rolls in. Segway robots dance to Daft Punk. And girls in armored bikinis ride atop fem-bots. What more could you possibly want? Glowsticks? Those are included with admission.
