Obama Orders Airlines to Obey Chinese ADIZ; Gives China a Propaganda Win

How 'illegitimate' can the declared zone be if you obey it? Because ultimately China is more interested in de facto power than de jure power.

As China doubles down on its new Air Defense Identification Zone, the Obama administration told US airlines to comply with new rules in east Asia. US, Japanese, and South Korean warplanes have flown through the zone, disregarding China's rules, but after Chinese jets shadowed a joint Japanese-American exercise in the area, Washington has reportedly warned civilian airliners to obey them.

Meanwhile other countries are simply ignoring it.

Japan and South Korean civilian airlines will not be complying with China's rules.

Moar Hate Crime on Campus = Hoax

This fall semester at the liberal arts college in New York saw a curiously high number of bias incident reports. On Nov. 14, the college sent a mass email to students advising them that Bias Incident Response Team (BIRT) had received at least six reports in the last few months of hateful and insensitive messages being scrawled and spray painted on student residences. Messages included "Avoid Being Bitches," "Fuck Niggers," and most prominently, "Hey Tranny. Know Your Place." . . .

Five days after the email was sent, Vassar President Catharine Hill sent a follow-up email announcing that the bias incidents were hoaxes perpetrated by two students. The students wrote the vile messages and then filed the reports themselves, claiming to be the victims of unknown haters.

And is putting it up for adoption. Because children ultimately belong to the state and not to you or your family.

I'd say this is exhibit A for why you should never travel to the UK while pregnant.

Married households with children were 40.3% of all US households in 1970; in 2012, that share had fallen by more than half to 19.6%. Interestingly, the share of households that were married without children has stayed at about 30%. Other Family Households, usually meaning single-parent families with children, has risen.
