Gaming Thread 12/1/2013

Quick post since with my birthday and Christmas shopping, it totally slipped my mind to write one. Sorry.

Steam sale started last week. After the first day, this sale has been lackluster like the last few years. That being said, I still ended up buying: Rogue Legacy, FFVII, Hammerwatch and Castlevania: LOS (don't ask about this one). What have you guys bought so far?

Venture Beat has two write ups on early sales for BF. An over all look at stuff (iPads, iPads everywhere). And they have a console specific and videogame writeup ("shocker", no PS4 supply and COD: Ghosts being the big seller).

Turn 10 is currently having a 50% sale on cars in Forza 5 (till the end of the day) as a stopgap so they can re-balance the ecosystem. Haven't run into a grind myself but good on them for acting on the feedback.

And for someone who watches a ton of eSport stuff, I totally forgot to mention last week that this weekend has two of the biggest tourneys of the year going on. You have DreamHack Winter and IEM going on. Some good games have been played so far. I'm bad for not mentioning this.

Only two new releases this week. The first episode of Broken Sword 5 (there are two parts) comes out on Tuesday. It's also coming out on iOS, Vita and Android but I haven't seen a release date for those versions yet.

And Gran Turismo 6 is also out this week. With the furor over Forza's micro-transactions, it will be curious if it's in this game as they announced a few months ago that it would.
