A passing runner and another citizen put him out. He was airlifted by chopper to a remote location, where they'll more safely put him to flame again.

Can I really blame this on Obama?

Well, the national mood does flow from the top. The economy is awful -- in large part due to Obama -- and that creates a lot of tension and even psychotic breaks.

Add to that the bitterly divisive tone in Washington, and the air of Millennialist Religion in the air -- and Obama did sell himself as a Prophet -- and you're going to find that some people crack in this Manichean Moment of All Against All.

Was that kind of totally bullshit? Okay, how about this:

Under Bush, every squirrel that died was blamed upon the White House and Halliburton.
