He is apparently surprised to know that a mother he abducted away from her son was not a virgin.

He goes on to specify that his victims had "multiple partners," so, you know.

He was sentenced to life plus one thousand years which is a cutesy way to appease the public by just making up a ridiculously large number.

If we're not putting people like this to death, why do we even have the death penalty at all?

Now, this is really not related whatsoever, but I don't think Ariel Castro will generate much commentary. I mean, everything one can say is so obvious one almost feels dumb about saying it. I had to strain to say something. What can you say?

So, while this is not really related, I will just note that the National Organization for Women has put out a list of its top offenders of women's rights, and they overlooked Anthony Weiner and Bob Filner.

Now to be honest with you I don't see why Weiner would be mentioned, really; true, he cheated, a lot, but his sext-partners were consensual. (I'm overlooking that business with the 17 year old where there are suspicions but no evidence.)

Bob Filner, on the other hand, appears to have been a serial groper, abusing his position as a Congressman to feel up liberal women coming before him to plead their case as to government action.

And yet, they just plum forgot to mention him.

Extraordinary.
